On 24 October 2024, Biskra University Rector, Prof. Mahmoud Debabeche, chaired an
extended Council meeting for the academic year 2024-2025.
The meeting was to acknowledge the efforts made and to encourage the University community to foster
coordination to improve University performance and progress. It also examined various
pedagogical issues, as the process evaluation of new students’ information and orientation,
pedagogical meetings, pedagogical follow-up area progress, percentage of classes completed
teaching pace, and the Ministerial Decision 1275 regular graduation projects distribution.
Moreover, the Faculties’ Deans and the Institute Director detailed issues related to the
2024/2025 academic year students’ enrolment, studies start, progress, pedagogical costs
distribution, and each Faculty schedules. Then, Biskra University Digitalisation Office Head
summarized the university’s SDN implementation plan with its main applications and digital
platforms within the University digital portal to establish a sound digital infrastructure. The
meeting discussed a host of points and topics, like third-level education, scientific research
laboratories, education and innovation, and International Mobility 2024 Programme
implementation follow-ups, the International Cooperation and Agreements Programme and
the presentation of Development activities results of the Foresight and Orientation
Directorate. After that, discussion entailed for various concerns and proposals with the aim of
closer visions to find practical solutions and increase work flexibility. At the end, the Rector
praised the efforts of the entire University community for hard work and dedication and
stressed the need to continue serious management to reach honourable international levels,
with God willing.
