On 15 May 2025, Biskra University auditorium held a coordination meeting to implement the
guardian Ministry’s instructions to ensure optimal care for medical science students,
especially during the transition from theoretical training to field training in health institutions.
Biskra University Rector, Pr Mahmoud Debabeche, attended the meeting accompanied by the
Pedagogy Vice-Rector, the Medicine Faculty Annex Director and Biskra State Health
Director, Mr Abdelkader Laouini, and a delegation from Constantine 3 Salah Boubnider
University. The university Director, Pr Chaabane Baitiche led this delegation, with the
Pedagogy Vice-Rector, Pr Riad Hamdouche, the Faculty of Medicine Dean, Pr Mahjoub
Bouzitouna, and the Head of the Department of Medicine, Pr Boulassel Abdelhamid. The
Rector welcomed the attendees of this meeting to facilitating coordination between higher
education and health sectors to support students’ needs of medical sciences at the Biskra
annex. Constantine 3 University Rector then reviewed the main agenda, focusing on the role
of the health sector in supporting student internships within public health structures and
institutions in assessing the available human resources and facilities for an effective and high-
quality field training. Constantine 3 University Faculty of Medicine Dean discussed the key
conditions and opportunities for the successful completion of this critical training stage,
particularly for third-year students, a shift from theoretical learning to practical application.
Biskra State Health Director gave statistics on health structures and institutions, of capacity,
staff numbers, and medical specialities highlighting the efforts to support this practical
medical training.
