On 2 March 2025, Biskra University Rector, Mr. Mahmoud Debabeche, met with the General
Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA) new branch office members, with the university's
administrators and officials, the General Secretary, the deputy directors and the faculties’
deans.

The Rector congratulated the new union branch, praised militants and called on them
to continue working for workers’ rights and duties, highlighting partnership for the
university’s development. He also stressed the need for the legal procedures respect. Then,
the Secretary General, Mr Henano Hakim, and the Deputy Directors and Faculties’ Deans
reaffirmed their commitment for constructive dialogue. At the end of the meeting, the union
branch general secretary, Mr Ibrahim Adjal, and his members expressed their gratitude,
considering the office to serve the employees and promote the institution.
