SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being – University Policy

The University of Biskra is committed to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by fostering a healthy and supportive environment for students, academic staff, and administrative personnel. The institution recognizes that physical and mental well-being are essential for academic success and overall quality of life.

To support this objective, the university provides access to healthcare services through campus medical units, offering basic medical consultations, preventive care, and health monitoring. These services aim to ensure timely support for students and staff, particularly in managing common health issues and promoting preventive practices.

In addition, the University of Biskra promotes mental health and psychological support by facilitating counseling services and raising awareness about stress management, especially during examination periods. Efforts are made to create a supportive academic environment that reduces pressure and encourages student well-being.

The university also encourages physical activity and healthy lifestyles through the provision of sports facilities and the organization of recreational and competitive events. These initiatives aim to improve physical fitness, reduce stress, and strengthen social cohesion within the university community.

Furthermore, awareness campaigns and educational activities are conducted on topics such as public health, hygiene, and disease prevention, aligning with national health priorities. Through these combined actions, the University of Biskra demonstrates its commitment to promoting health and well-being as a fundamental component of sustainable development.
