SDG 14: Life Below Water – University Policy
Although located in an inland region, the University of Biskra contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 14 (Life Below Water) by promoting responsible water management and reducing activities that may indirectly impact aquatic ecosystems.
The institution encourages the reduction of water pollution through proper wastewater management and awareness of responsible disposal practices. Efforts are made to minimize the release of harmful substances into water systems, particularly from laboratories and campus facilities.
In addition, the university integrates environmental education and research related to water quality, ecosystem protection, and sustainable water use. These efforts contribute to broader environmental protection, including the preservation of aquatic ecosystems at regional and national levels.
