The University of Biskra is committed to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by promoting the efficient use of resources and minimizing environmental impacts across its campus operations. The institution recognizes the importance of sustainable resource management in achieving long-term environmental and economic sustainability.

To support this objective, the university implements measures aimed at reducing resource consumption, particularly in energy, water, and materials. Efforts are made to optimize the use of these resources through improved management practices, regular monitoring, and the adoption of more efficient technologies where possible.

The University of Biskra also promotes waste reduction and management by encouraging recycling practices and minimizing waste generation within campus facilities. Awareness campaigns are conducted to sensitize students and staff to the importance of responsible consumption, including reducing paper use, avoiding food waste, and adopting environmentally friendly behaviors.

In addition, the institution encourages sustainable procurement practices, favoring products and services that have lower environmental impacts. This includes consideration of durability, energy efficiency, and environmental performance in purchasing decisions.

The university further contributes through education and research activities related to sustainability, integrating concepts of circular economy, resource efficiency, and environmental responsibility into academic programs. These efforts aim to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable consumption patterns in their future professional roles.
