On 9 April 2025, the Biskra University Architecture Faculty organised a study day entitled
‘Critical Perspectives on Housing Production in Biskra'.

It focused on issues related to housingproduction in regions with hot and dry climates, such as
Biskra. The participants addressed a series of complex challenges related to technical,
administrative, climatic and social aspects, which often have a negative impact on the quality
of housing and cause delays in completion, planning and budget management, as well as the
difficulty of reconciling technical and environmental requirements in this type of climate.
Its aim is to highlight the experiences of local study offices to provide a scientific framework
for the exchange of visions and experiences to come up with recommendations to improve the
quality of housing in Biskra Wilaya.
