The Loyalty and Sacrifice March on Martyrs’ Day Anniversary

IMG 4731On the annual Martyrs’ Day, Biskra University organised a series of scientific and cultural
events to renew with the sacrifices of our martyrs and strengthen the values of patriotism and
belonging among the new generations.

The events started at the Department of Humanities,
Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty, with a national symposium titled “The Martyr is an
Immortal Spirit and a Pioneer Journey of Loyalty”. The Faculty Dean, Pr. Missoum
Belkacem attended the symposium with his deputy for postgraduate affairs and scientific
research, Pr. Messaoud Karboua, and some teachers and students. The department head, Pr.
Maghnia Ghardaien opened the symposium, followed by a detailed presentation by Pr. Nawal
Naoui, the symposium chairperson, on the objectives and themes of the event, with teachers
from Biskra, Batna 1 and Tebessa universities, through a documentary film on the glorious
liberation revolution. The Law and Political Science Faculty hosted a scientific seminar
organised by the Elite Club of Political Science and International Relations on "French
Nuclear Tests in Reggan Region: Environmental Dimensions and International
Responsibility” The Pedagogy University Vice-rector, Djeffal Abdelhamid, the Secretary
General, Hakim Henano, the Faculty Dean, Abderaouf Debabeche, and Faculty teachers and
students attended the seminar. In his opening speech, the Vice-rector stressed the importance
of these historical memories to strengthen the national identity and fulfill the message of the
martyrs’ nation. The students participated actively with the Islamic Scouts. The Regional
Mudjahidin Museum organised an exhibition on the most prominent Liberation Revolution
struggle stages, with a short documentary film and painting art competitions. These events
took place to raise historical awareness and consolidate militant values among students, to
honour the martyrs’ sacrifices and preserve the national heritage. They remain a milestone of
reviving militant values. Accordingly, the University continues to fulfil its educational and
awareness-raising role.
