On 2 February 2025, , Biskra Regional Centre for National Service organised a sensitisation
campaign to raise awareness among university students about the importance of the National
Service and its procedures, at Biskra University.
The University Rector supervised the campaign assisted by the University Secretary General, the Pedagogy Vice-rector, the
Faculties’ Deans, and Biskra Regional Centre for National Service Director and the Regional
Centre for National Service executives. Lieutenant-Colonel Adel Larkam, Commander of
Biskra Regional Centre for National Service, chaired the lecture giving a comprehensive
presentation on National Service, its objectives and benefits, and its stages, starting from the
census and medical examination, to the regulatory procedures related to deferment and
exemption, with the laws governing this process. The campaign was characterised by great
interaction with the students, asking many questions about the legal and administrative
aspects of National Service, then answered by the officials of the Regional Centre, correcting
misconceptions and providing accurate information about the mechanisms of National
Service and its benefits.
