Biskra University hosted on 6 November the honouring ceremony of the medical staff
participating in the national medical convoy to the southern Wilayas, “Algeria Triumphant’’.
The attendees were university administrators and officials, headed by the University Rector,
Pr. Mahmoud Debabeche, the University Secretary General, Mr Hakim Henano, with Biskra
Wilaya Health Director,
Fisheries and Aquaculture Director, Mr. Riad Boukhabla, theNational Organisation of Free Students (ONEL) Secretary General, and ONEL Wilaya Office
Head attended by Biskra University Medical Faculty students. ONEL organised the ceremony
under the patronage of the High Council of Youth, the Wali of Ouled-Djellal and Salah
Boubnider Constantine 3 University. Mr. Riadh Boukhabla and Mr Abdelhalim Gharbia
praised the participating doctors and all who contributed to the success of this volunteering
medical caravan. The convoy left on 2 November to it its first stop in Ouled- Djellal, through
the towns of Chaiba, Besbes and Ras El- Mi’ad, where doctors from several specialties
(ophthalmology, osteopathy, cardiology, general surgery, internal medicine and general
surgery) diagnosed more than 1000 citizens in three days. This is to provide health care,
services such as medical examinations, vaccinations, distribution of medicines and health
awareness works to the inhabitants and citizens of this Wilaya. Nouria Mustafa, a medical
specialist, displayed the stages of this convoy through its various stops in Ouled Djellal. By
ceremony closing, the participants held honours for their community and nation efforts.
