The Glorious Liberation Revolution 70th Anniversary Commemoration

 On 31 October 2024, Biskra University community commemorated the 70th anniversary of
the outbreak of November 1 1954 Glorious Liberation Revolution. The Rector led the event
by administrators, officials, and honour guests. , as the Wilaya Inspector General, representing
the Honourable Biskra Wali, the representative of the People's Wilaya Council, the President
of Biskra Judicial Council, the Republic mediator representative, the Parliament two
Chambers representatives, representatives of various security, military and civil authorities,
Biskra Revolutionary Family Mujahedeen,

the General Union of Algerian Workers General Secretary, and the entire Biskra University community, all attended. The event opening was
the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the Rector’s statement. He stressed
that the glorious November Revolution was a heroic epic in which Algeria regained its
sovereignty by paying a high price in blood and sacrifice. He described November 1 as a
message of historic struggle against the hegemony of a colonialist. These sacrifices have
become an example for the right of peoples to self-determination and liberation, pointing out
that this celebration coincides with the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Biskra
University. For his part, the Wilaya Inspector General called for concerted efforts to advance
the Algerian university and place it in the ranks of international universities. After the live
testimony of the Moujahid Saleh Hassouna's on the conditions and climate of the armed
struggle during the November Revolution in the region, a video documenting a dialogue
between a university student and the martyr Ben M’hidi using artificial intelligence
technology was presented. Two theatrical performances by the University Theatre Club ''The
Meeting of the Committee of Six''; and ''The Will of the Martyr'', written by Professor Naima
Saadia, where played, besides choral pieces, with the performance of the Music Club for Art
and Creativity. Poetry also participated in the commemoration by the recitation of glorifying

poems of the Liberation Revolution by Azhar Firouzi Ajiri, Bachir Djenane, Fakia Sabahi and
Hamza Bouziane. The university rector honoured the righteous mujtahid Hassouna and the
Wilaya general inspector, and different university clubs exhibited photos of the revolution
main stages.
