Biskra Wilaya witnessed Biskra University, Pr Hanane Bedjaoui, honouring by the Minister
of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Wali of Biskra and the Rector of the
University of Biskra,

in recognition of her leading role in representing Algeria in international
forums through the national working group in charge of following up the Codex standard file
on fresh dates. As head of the Algerian delegation, researcher Bedjaoui participated in the
23rd session of the Codex Committee on Fresh Fruit and Vegetables (CCFFV), held in
Mexico City from 25 February to 1 March 2025, playing a decisive role in the reintroduction
of the “date”; phase in the international standard, especially Deglet Nour. The winners of the
National Programming and Robotics Competition, organised by the Biskra University were
also honoured. More than 30 students’ teams from various Algerian universities and high
schools competed in programming and robotics fields for prizes including best prototype, best
innovative idea and best 3D design.
