On November 28, 2023, the faculty of Commercial, Economic, and Management Sciences organized a national forum on “the application of international accounting standards in the public sector, IPSAS. The faculty Dean, Mr. Ismail Hijazi attended with the former judge of
Auditors’ Court Dr. Mohamed Messai, Mrs. Khalfaoui Elmouldi, the budget controller, Mrs. Hind Chaouch, assistant budget controller, Fatiha Boudiar, head administrator Biskra Wilaya, teachers, freshmen, sophomores, and doctoral students from 19 national university
institutions.

The forum chair Dr. Ibrahim Toumi, referred to this meeting’s several objectives. He emphasized the importance of IPSAS for Algeria by raising the issues that prevent its
application, searching for efficient solutions to overcome them, by an exchange of experiences and knowledge among professionals.
This scientific event included 4 main axes and 13 sub-axes:
1- Application reality of public accounting in Algeria.
2- IPSAS
3- International experiences of IPSAS with benefit to Algeria.
4- Requirements for improving the public sector financial management in Algeria in light of the IPSAS.
