Overview

The kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ KA2 CBHE project MED.HELA brought together key higher education stakeholders from Algeria, Tunisia, and Europe. The event was attended by representatives from the Higher Education Ministries of Algeria and Tunisia and the Director of the Erasmus+ Office Algeria.

MED.HELA is a three-year initiative aimed at strengthening leadership capacities in Algerian and Tunisian higher education institutions. It addresses critical gaps in governance, strategic planning, and institutional management, aligned with nationally identified reform priorities. The project leverages ministerial involvement, evidence-based leadership frameworks, and European best practices in higher education leadership development.

Key Outcomes of the Meeting

Official start of project implementation, with partners aligning on objectives, activities, and work plans.

High engagement and commitment from all partners toward the joint development of a comprehensive Leadership Development Programme.

Signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between University of Tlemcen and University of Jendouba, establishing a framework for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
